The Uncomfortable Feelings
Hello everyone! I'm back!
It's been quite a while since my last post. I've been feeling unmotivated to write, I don't know why. But anyway, I'm back now! Nothing serious, just a few illustrations to lighten up my blog.
I'm going to talk about uncomfortable feelings that we seldom experience in our daily life. Honestly I don't know what else to say, I just want to get to the point so here we go, I PRESENT YOU! THE:
1. The Swimming Pool
I've just learned to swim haha (at least I can surface and take a breath, rather than always have my head underwater all the time which is not the point of swimming). I swim a lot now. In our town, we have a swimming pool that get fed by a natural spring so the water is nice. They also have a semi indoor pool just for the ladies. It's also not too deep. It only goes until 160cm. Those are great advantages but the best part is: IT'S COVERED IN FLOOR TILES. Why is it a big deal? Because not too long ago, every natural swimming pool in our town didn't have floor tiles so just sand and rocks and pebbles, which is super scary for me because of this:
Yeah, pretty dumb but to be fair you need to swim calmly to be safe, and in order to swim calmly you shouldn't feel like a crocodile is lurking somewhere below the surface. Even at a tiled swimming pool sometimes I have to wait for other people if I want to go the deep end so I'm not alone. Just in case some weird scary creatures get in the pool.
2. The Apple
Apples taste so good, they smell so good, but they don't feel so good. Anyone having trouble eating an apple? Not to be whiny but seriously I don't get how people can stand apples. The texture is just so unbearable. When I dive my teeth into an apple I always get chills and cringe, no matter how many times I try. The flesh feels like styrofoam. It's the same feeling as when you scratch the surface of a blackboard. Just imagining eating an apple makes me cringe. Man, I wish I could eat fresh apples. In order to be able to eat them comfortably I have to slice them thinly and then bake them or make them into juice. Grapes also give me the same feeling, unless I peel them. After I peel them the cringy texture's gone.
3. The Blanket
When it's cold at night, you can rely on your comfy blanket. Make sure it covers all of your extremities because if not, there's this uncomfortable feeling that something might crawl from under your bed and grab your uncovered hands or feet. All your extremities, all of them must be snugly covered, or just put away your blanket and let all of them exposed. The shadow people from under the bed only target partly uncovered extremities. *shrugs
4. The Cashier
I always make to count my expense whenever I'm shopping. It's to avoid this kind of situation:
But still, even though I've already calculate my expense and check my wallet, sometimes the uncomfortable feeling stays until the payment is finished.
5. The Runaway Car
Whenever I'm driving alone, if I have to get out of my car for a moment with the engine still on (mostly to open the garage door), I always let the window on the driver side open. Just in case I got locked out of my car or my car somehow runaway.
6. The Memory
I'm getting sleepy and I still have to sew some bags, I'll just make it short so I can get this post done with and make myself a cup of iced coffee.
The last uncomfortable feeling is when you suddenly forget things that should have been a no brainer (sudah nglotok di otak) for you, like your phone number, your signature, your country's ideology. We used to have to recite the Pancasila every Monday at school. Now that I've finished school, I'm afraid that my memory is wearing off. What if suddenly some TV reporters ambush you and put you on a surprise quiz where they ask people on the street some random questions and air it on a national TV? What if they ask you recite the Pancasila and you suddenly forget?
Better start memorizing every now and then to keep the memory fresh. I also sometimes have trouble memorizing my own phone number. I memorize it like this xxx xxx xxxx xx because it's catchy this way. But then when I go to the shop to buy pulsa (what's the English word for pulsa? Oh I think it's credit) and the cashier would recite my phone number to me to make sure it's correct and he/she would do it like this xxx xxx xxx xxx and I'd get confused as heck for a moment hahahaha.
So that's all. Thanks for reading! See you next time! I'm sorry if this post did not provide you with any useful information :(
Many things happened these last few weeks, just gotta catch up up up with some stuff stuff stuff and move on fast fast fast~ Hey I have successfully beaten my writing block yeah! I hope everything goes well for all of you!
