The Sky

Maybe people are destined to fall in love with the sky. It's like a long distance love. Since the time when there was no other way to look at the sky except with the naked eyes, people were already drawn into it. People tried to make up shapes with those white dots in the sky, and name them. They also sailed their ships towards them, and harvested their crops with their company.

People just couldn't get enough of the sky. They tried to make it closer and closer. There was a way to conquer the full circumference of the earth, but the sky? impossible. Only birds got the luxury to enjoy the thrill of embracing the sky.

Only when they managed to drag the canvas of the sky a little bit closer and take a good look of it, a whole new world emerged. One, and two, and three, and seven of them. They moved, they spun, and they differed in colors.

Then people finally got their chance to be sky dwellers. The sky turned out to be a very good place to travel. It even got them to the moon. Did the people who drew shapes with the stars had the slightest imagination that someday their descendants would touch the moon? Maybe.

The sky only got closer and closer, faster and faster. More worlds emerged. They even transcended time. Those stars were from the past, they said.

Now the lights are brighter than ever. When there's not enough light, people see with sounds, people see with all kinds of mean. The silent sky turned out to be filled with all sorts of uproars, muted by the massive void that surrounds it.

People see deeper and deeper towards the edge of the sky, and the edge of time. The two lovers are now closer than ever. Even if the naked eyes are all we got, the sky's still there for us to explore.
Just like how the sky unfolds itself. In time, maybe someday, what used to be a pure mystery, would be another discovery. Just keep looking.

Then He directed Himself to the heaven while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come [into being], willingly or by compulsion." They said, "We have come willingly." - Fussilat: 11

Not a promise, but maybe my next post will be: The Things I Like about Avengers: Infinity War
